Supported Services Business Model
Project Summary
Kahuro Ltd has identified that the number of adults with learning disabilities, autism, Acquired Brain Injury and mental health is increasing, and their needs are becoming more complex. People rightly have expectations of a more independent life in the community and there’s a dire need for a range of good quality affordable local community-based services.
However, Currently, there are limitations in choices, particularly for people with complex needs who require specialized accommodation which has led to people being placed outside their local authority and in some cases in specialist – in patient services many miles from their homes and family.
Therefore, drawing from evidence-based research and experts in Adult Social Care (ASC), we have established that there are potential long-term outcomes from the development of bespoke solutions and subsequently, we are collaborating with housing providers to improve our offer in accommodation-based care and support for people who live away from families.
Subsequently, in our portfolio we have a property that has been purchased by a private landlord and is currently being converted to a suitable configuration for supported living. The appointed housing provider will lease the property from the landlord and provide an Intensive Housing Management service for the tenants. All the licence agreements will be in place between housing provider and the tenants, with an approved care provider administering day-to-day care, support and supervision for the tenants placed within the scheme.
